Embroidery – one of Ukrainian folk decorative arts enjoys a deep and rich tradition. The first paper embroidery (from the word – VYTYNATy, ie cut), came to Ukraine in the 19th century and were most common in Podolia, Dnieper region, and Carpathian Mountains. This plot and fancy decorations housing, delicate silhouette or cut off with scissors, cut knife with white or colored paper. They were used to decorate homes. Many designs were cut from paper including lace, flowers, trees, birds, animals, Cossacks and girls. All sorts of different images have long been used to decorate Ukrainian homes – the furnace, windows, walls, etc. Paper cutting permitted ??twice, four times, eight times the designs allowing the creation interesting compositions.
